VIFORION: A Transportation HUB for Future Development

Efficiently linking urban settlements through a multi-modal transportation system

VIFORION stands out from other designs due to its unique properties and strengths. With a focus on ordinary people, the project aims to provide a new experience for users by offering access to local amenities and work opportunities. This not only improves the community but also contributes to a better future.

The realization of VIFORION is made possible through advanced technologies such as 3D modeling and visualization, as well as BIM technology using Autodesk Revit software. These tools enable the designers to create a comprehensive and detailed representation of the project.

The project covers a total area of 40 acres (161,874 sq.m) and is located in Monib Square, Giza, Egypt. Extensive research was conducted to identify the best location for the project, considering overlaps in various transportation systems. Monib Square emerged as the ideal location, with the most extensive network of transportation connections.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was the transformation of the existing crowded slum area into a catalyst for development. Additionally, the designers had to find solutions to seamlessly connect different modes of transportation, ensuring smooth transitions for passengers.

VIFORION is designed to smartly link all types of transportation systems, enhancing the flow of transportation. It also supports and facilitates people with special needs, connects the capital to the east part of the country through trains, decreases time and energy loss in the city's transportation system, and directly links the airport to the main Cairo metro grid. The project also includes commercial and managerial areas for financial sustainability.

The design of VIFORION has received recognition and accolades. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2014 in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category. This award acknowledges the project's outstanding expertise, innovation, technical characteristics, and artistic skill.
